April 8, 9, 10, 2005 (Fri.-Sun.) Set in 1938, the play concerns a young Jewish wife suddenly beset by paralysis. The audience gradually comes to understand the extraordinary links between the patient’s private life and the calamitous events shaking the world around her. Time called the play “complex, mysterious … full of arresting incidents.”
