Humble Boy

by Charlotte Jones, directed by David Baecker

April 7, 8, 9, 2006 (Fri.-Sun.) Summoned back to his home in the English countryside for the funeral of his father, a renowned beekeeper, Felix Humble, a brilliant but troubled Cambridge astrophysicist comes to find, as did Hamlet, an inappropriate lack of bereavement on the part of his mother, who has been dripping honey with another man, and intends to marry him. To bee or not to bee is one of the philosophical questions pondered by the befuddled son. This is a delightful comedy of family manners with traces of science and metaphysics.
