Candida

by George Bernard Shaw, directed by Eileen Schuyler

Feb. 15, 16, 17, 2008 (Fri.-Sun.) Despite intimations of innocence, Shaw's enigmatic lady of the parsonage is wise in the ways of men. Candida knows exactly how far to carry a challenge to her self-satisfied clergyman husband, Morell, or a seduction of the naive and overwrought poet, Marchbanks. This is a beautiful and luminous play that is one of the jewels of the theater.

(Candida was presented by Theater Voices in November 1995 and is repeated as part of our 20th Anniversary celebration of noteworthy productions.)
