The Cocktail Hour

by A.R. Gurney, directed by Judy Spevack

May 30, 31, and June 1, 2008 (Fri.-Sun.) A playwright drops by his parent’s posh home in upstate New York for dinner.  As they have cocktails, he casually informs them he has written a play -- about them.  What follows are quarrels, recriminations, revelation and reconciliation, replete with erudite, witty dialog.  Deliciously funny and touching, this play was winner of the 1989 Lucille Lortel Award for best show Off-Broadway.

(The Cocktail Hour was presented by Theater Voices in March 1999 and is repeated as part of our 20th Anniversary Year celebration of noteworthy productions.)
