Under Milk Wood

by Dylan Thomas, directed by Brian Massman

February. 5, 6, 7, 2010 (Fri.-Sun.) This “Play for Voices” takes us on a midnight-to-midnight visit to a Welsh fishing village and into the intimate dreams of its inhabitants. In lyrical, sometimes racy, and humorous prose, a Narrator threads their lives together for us. Originally written for radio by the most extraordinary poet of the past mid-century, it was first broadcast on BBC on January 25, 1954 – two months after Dylan Thomas’ death. Richard Burton was the Narrator. It was later adapted for stage and film. “A lovely stage poem…words sparkle and sing.” – New York Daily News.
