THE LITTLE FOXES

by Lillian Hellman, directed by David Baecker

May 17-19, 2013 (Fri.-Sun.)Theater Voices culminates our 25th season celebration with a new production of its inaugural show, The Little Foxes, Hellman’s 1939 drama about greed, selfishness and violence, and the women who are trapped by them. Set in the early 20th century American South, the play portrays the Hubbard family—exemplified by the glamorous but ruthless Regina—and their attempts to become wealthy at the expense of their relationships with one another. This American classic rounds out a quarter of a century of continuous Theater Voices productions!

Director: David Baecker is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Russell Sage College. Local directing projects include a staged reading of The Trial of Bat Shea; Humble Boy and Full Gallop for Theater Voices; A Christmas Carol and a staged reading of Silence in a Circular Rainbow for NYSTI and a cabaret for the Rensselaer County Republican Party. He has also directed for Santa Fe Theatre Festival, New York Fringe Festival and the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School.
