THE SHAPE OF THINGS

April 22, 23, 24, 2016 (Fri.-Sun.) This contemporary story of love and art, set in a Midwestern college town, follows the unexpected romance between Evelyn, an attractive, worldly art major, and Adam, an unsophisticated young man who has never had much success with women. As their relationship progresses and Evelyn strengthens her hold on Adam, his emotional and physical evolution discomforts his closest friends, with unexpected consequences for all.

Director: Patricia Bunce has an MA in Theatre from Penn State University and MSEd in Counseling from the College of Saint Rose. She was Director of the Theatre Arts School at NYSTI for five years. Directing credits include: Tribute, California Suite (Albany Civic Theatre); Chapter Two (Schenectady Civic Theatre), Speed the Plow (UAlbany) and Fool for Love (Eighth Step Coffee House). Other favorite directing projects include The Glass Menagerie, Brighton Beach Memoirs and Our Town.

Director: David Bunce is a Teacher/Artist-in-Residence with the Theatre Institute at Sage, Russell Sage College, where he directed Lord of the Flies, and played George in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. During his many years as an actor with NYSTI, David performed in London, Moscow, Sweden, NYC and the Middle East. He also directed And Then There Were None for the company. Films include Cold I Am; Arachnia, and the web series Super Knocked Up..
